If only Forest Rogers would do a updated version of this old Safari Carnegie Smilodon. The issues with its saber teeth and the blocky shape when viewed from above could be corrected, as well as improve details and painting. Its profile view, along with the very stocky build should certainly be retained exactly as it is from the old figure. Even its stance/ pose should be retained. In my opinion, this would make just about the best scientific Smilodon figure available.

I love the old Safari Carnegie Smilodon. It has a lot of scientific accuracy. Two issues I have is that it’s saber teeth are just terribly sculpted. Also the figure is very narrow and blocky when viewed from directly above. It’s side profile however is excellent with the correct massive frontal areas and diminutive rear areas. My rating: 4.5 out of 5
